The modern DOHC engine with 24 valves, EFI (electronic fuel injection), and VCT (variable cam timing) ensures clean, powerful performance and smooth running, as well as minimal fuel consumption and trouble-free starting. The modern technology in a compact design speaks for itself.

The electronic gear and "drive-by-wire" throttle control ensure that you can control this powerhouse extremely smoothly and precisely.

SERVICES

The base engine for all three new YAMAHA V6 engines is a completely newly developed 4.2-liter engine. The cylinder banks are positioned at an angle of 60 degrees to each other. This saves space and enables a compact design for the entire engine. Technical highlights that contribute to increased performance include electronic multipoint fuel injection (EFI) and variable camshaft timing. Together with the central throttle valve, this ensures optimum power delivery, clean combustion, and economical fuel consumption. These engines are designed and developed to deliver the ample power you need to propel a large modern offshore boat. The engines perform this task with elegant and composed sophistication.

RELIABILITY

On the water, an engine must function 100 percent, otherwise the skipper and crew can quickly find themselves in distress. YAMAHA protects you from this. The new YAMAHA V6 engines are packed with sophisticated technologies that give you peace of mind and that you can trust completely. The PrimeStart™ cold start system starts the engine as easily as a modern car—just turn the key and off you go. A built-in fuel filter with water separator protects the injection system from contamination, contributing to Yamaha's proverbial reliability. A high-performance alternator supplies the battery and the electrical system with power. And Yamaha's ideal corrosion protection, consisting of a multitude of sacrificial anodes and a 5-layer exterior coating, contributes significantly to the long service life of the engine.

COMFORT AND CONTROL

All vital engine functions are continuously monitored by a variety of sensors. This gives you constant control over the engine's performance. The engines feature an electrohydraulic trim and tilt system with a wide adjustment range for optimum performance at the touch of a button. Newly developed DNG digital instruments provide a wealth of information and an interface to other NMEA 2000-compatible devices. A TFT screen is also available as an option, which displays all engine information. But Yamaha offers even more: the new V6 engines are equipped with an electronic anti-theft device as standard. It can be activated at the touch of a button using a remote control and works like a car immobilizer, i.e., the ignition is electronically interrupted. A feature that you will only find on Yamaha.
